On Sunday 27th August, everything that’s good about eating and drinking in Italy comes together under one roof with the Italian Wine + Food Festival – Sydney.

Sydney’s favourite Italian festival is celebrating 5 years in a spectacular new venue, the Cutaway, Barangaroo Reserve. Everything that’s good about eating and drinking in Italy comes together under one roof in August with the Italian Wine + Food Festival – Sydney. Just as the appeal of Italian food runs from street-style pizza-fun for the whole family to fresh-pasta finery for the connoisseur, the festival has food and drink, entertainment and information to suit everyone from spaghetti-loving kids to the most engaged Italian-speaking wine lover.

Sydney’s top Italian chefs are turning out in force to make it a day to remember, with much-loved locals Giovanni Pilu (Pilu at Freshwater), Lucio Galletto (Lucio’s), Federico Zanellato (LuMi), Stefano Manfredi and Gianluca Donzelli (Pizzaperta), Nino Zoccali (Pendolino), Richard Ptacnik (Otto Ristorante), Gabriele Taddeucci (Balla), Lucio de Falco (Lucio Pizzeria) and Youssef Touati (Salt Meats Cheese) leading the charge. Feast on pizza, pasta and Italian snacks in our pop-up restaurants from Sydney favourites Otto, Lot.1 Sydney, Balla, Big Poppa’s, Lucio Pizzeria and a first taste of Marta by the team that gave you Popolo. Plus there’ll be cooking demonstrations with chefs and providores on the Smeg Main Stage.

Shop like an Italian and taste your way through the Marketplace, brimming with salumi, cheese, pasta, bread, coffee, olive oil, pastries and gelato featuring Vannella Cheese, Pasta Emilia, Salumi Australia, Dust Bakery, Berkelo, Dolcettini, Zippoli, Buon Ricordo Olive Oil, Consorzio del Prosciutto di Parma, Consorzio del Parmigiano Reggiano, Goose on the Loose, Luca Ciano Sauces, Salt Meats Cheese, That’s Amore Cheese, Arancini Art, Molecola, Truffle Traders, Rivareno Gelato, Drink in Style, Cellar V, Vinotopia, Botella, plus a Nutella Pop-up!

Explore over 200 Italian wines by the region, plus Italian-centric Aussie wines, or take an Italian Wine Masterclass curated by our team. Meet winemakers and importers, learn more about the grape varieties, the regions and best of all, how good they taste. The Barolo Bar and Franciacorta Bar – a tasting experience like no other – with sommeliers pouring, vertical tastings and information about these unique wines, are not to be missed. For something stronger, there’s coffee from Espresso di Manfredi’s baristas, Moretti Beer on tap, or sip on an authentic Italian aperitivi from Big Poppa’s bar team, serving up Negroni’s, Venetian Spritz and Americano’s all day!

Don’t miss our Pizza Acrobatics by Italian World Master Pizza Chef and Australia’s Got Talent star Youssef Ben-Touati from Salt Meats Cheese, and from 6pm Melbourne band Santa Taranta will be performing traditional music from southern Italy in the Wine Garden. Proudly presented by Smeg, the festival is all about celebrating wine, food and culture together in inimitable Italian style.
